Comprised of four young locals, Red Tide are bringing classic rock n’ roll to today’s youth and leaving a lasting impression on every other generation within earshot. Covering old genre stalwarts like Peter Frampton and Ted Nugent, this ambitious Merritt Island-based foursome has been turning heads since they arrived on the Space Coast music scene early last year.
Adam Sikora provides lead vocals and guitar, Brandon Rapone, guitar, Doug Glick plays bass, and Corbin Nappi brings a solid drum foundation to Red Tide’s sonic onslaught, the dominating feature of which is some note-for-note guitar solos from songs gleaned from all your favorite artists of the ’60s and ’70s — bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, The Doors and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. If classic rock is what gets you going, do yourself a favor and seek out Red Tide. They’ll satisfy your need for guitar-driven speed.
Red Tide have many shows on Saturdays throughout August: 8/1 from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. at Thirsty Bones (221 Crockett Blvd.; Merritt Island; 452-0568); 8/8 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Rusty’s (628 Glen Cheek Dr.; Port Canaveral; 783-2033; 8/15 from 3 to 7p.m. at the Sandbar (4301 Ocean Beach Blvd.; Cocoa Beach; 799-2577), and 8/22 from 7 to 11 p.m. at Norman’s Raw Bar and Grill (3 Forrest Ave.; Cocoa; 433-0872).
