Formed in early 2009, The Dirty Chucks have been wowing local crowds with their loud and energetic brand of hard rock at some of the biggest venues in the County. One of the few female-fronted local rock bands, the Chucks (as they’re known to devotees) have built a huge fan base around exciting live shows and a diverse selection of songs that spans several genres, from southern rock and alternative to even a bit of classic country.

Leading the band with her powerful vocal talents, Rose Blanco drives amazing performances that aren’t easily forgotten. Supporting her is Brian Monahan, one of the Chucks’ two guitar players, a product of the Midwest music scene who brings a heavier edge to the band with influences ranging from Metallica to Killswitch Engage. The band’s second guitar player, Josh Street, plays counterpoint to Brian’s sound with a smooth, laid-back groove rooted in the classic rock tradition. Keeping the beat is Ben Joseph, formerly of local punk legends Minority 33, whose steady, metronomic strokes keep the determined pace while laying down a thunderously intricate groove for the band to build upon. Rounding out the Chucks’ sound is six-string bassist Chris Chamberland, who ensures the backbone of the rhythm section is glued tightly together, all while playing off and augmenting the melodies of the rest of his bandmates.

Boasting a refreshingly diverse and eclectic set list, The Dirty Chucks bring a party atmosphere to any venue they play, whether it’s a small bar or a huge nightclub. It’s commonplace to find their passionate crowds requesting more music well after their shows have formally ended, and the band rarely lets them down. Without that loyal fan base, The Dirty Chucks claim they’d not be where they are today — steadily becoming one of the hottest and most in-demand live acts on the Space Coast.
