Paddy Cassidy’s Irish Pub
St. Patrick’s Day festivities and a great lineup of Irish music start here at Noon with musician Mike Dunn, the Myra Watters Irish Dancers, Men of the House, and a special performance by Zac O’Potatoes, led by Paddy’s favorite Zac Sullivan.
Also scheduled to appear are the Molly Maguires, a four-piece from Chattanooga, TN, comprised of Marc Michael, Michael Walters, Julie Kunesh, and Sarah Wituki. With banjo, guitar, bodhran, mandolin, and fiddle, the Mollys produce a rousing sound informed by the music of Ireland and other Celtic lands.
You can also look forward to music from bagpipers and three bars serving full liquor and draught beer, including, for the first time, both Guinness (representing Dublin) and Murphy’s Stout, from Cork. Quality Irish whiskies will be on hand at the main indoor bar; look for Jameson 12- and 18-Year, Redbreast, Michael Collins, Powers, and Tullamore Dew.
Food will be catered by Sonny’s Barbecue, featuring loads of corned beef and cabbage prepared especially for the day, pulled pork and beef sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, and hot platters.
In preparation of the big day, local author John Whalen will appear on March 9 as part of Brevard Community College’s 3rd Annual “Celebrating St. Patrick” series of presentations. Admission for this event is $17, which includes registration fee, a book by Whalen, and a catered lunch.
