CITY As we reported last month, all Brevard County Public Libraries are having their budgets cut beginning October 1. The Cocoa Beach Library, for one, will experience a 63% reduction in the book budget, a loss of 126 staff hours per week, and a reduction in library open hours by 7 per week. To help with the book budget cut, the Friends of the Library have established a “Book Fund.” All donations to this fund will go toward purchasing books for the Library’s collection. CITY Voter Registration by the Supervisor of Elections will be held in the Cocoa Beach Library Tuesday, September 1 from 10 a.m. until Noon to accommodate new registrations, name changes, address changes, replacement cards, vote-by-mail registration, and signature updates for the vote-by-mail option.
