All levels welcome!

In this course, students will learn the language of color in an easy to understand, objective format. This will greatly aid in their ability to describe and mix any color, and to maintain control of their palette. In short, we’ll be discussing practical color theory for painters that can be used in everyday painting scenarios. We will also cover “light logic”, or the effect that light has in revealing form of any kind. Subject matter is open to the individual student, as portraiture, still life, and landscape all use the principles covered in this course. For practical purposes, students will work from hard copy photographs or screen images from a laptop or iPad during class hours.
